I Want To Be A Sharpened Arrow
Today I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Jimmy Pritchard, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Forney, Texas. He gathered with about a dozen ministers at First Baptist Church of Centerton and shared with us from the depth of his own ministry. Everything he said went straight to my heart and was exactly what I needed to hear. I’m going to share some other thoughts over the next few days, but thought I’d being by relating this thought he shared from the book of Isaiah…

Here’s the point – you can manufacture success rather quickly. Money, talent, charisma, a network of resourceful friends can all get you virtually instant success. Or, you could wait for God to sharpen, prepare, and fashion you for that one great purpose He has in mind for you.
If you choose the latter, you’ll have to remain hidden away in His quiver while He works on you. You won’t enjoy fame or limelight until the time is right. But in the end, your character will be able to support the success that comes your way.
I don’t know about you, but I want to be a sharpened arrow!
