God Uses Little Things

There’s an old hymn I love called Little Is Much. The words are very simple…

Little is much when God is in it
Labor not for wealth or fame
There’s a crown and you can win it

if you’ll go in Jesus’ name.

I also love this passage in 1 Corinthians, chapter one…

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord .” (NKJV)

I also like certain Bible stories such as…

  • How Jesus took one little boy’s five loaves and two fishes and fed thousands.
  • How God fed Elisha and a single Mom and her son from one little cruse of oil.
  • How God led the Israelites to throw off the oppression of the Midianites through Gideon and 300 men.
  • How twelve apostles turned the world upside down.

Do you get it? God uses little things, weak things, base things to absolutely confound the mighty things of this world. When we don’t stand a fighting chance, God shows up to work on our behalf to show Himself strong!

Ever feel little? powerless? helpless? Congratulations – God can use you!

THREE REASONS THIS IS SO IMPORTANT…

1. We learn to trust and depend on God when we’re little.

2. We get to see God’s power at work when we’re little.

3. The world gets to see God’s glory when we’re little.

What do you have that doesn’t seem like much, but that in the hands of God could potentially impact His Kingdom for eternity?

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
