Home Church at the Cox Household

Cox Family Church

What do you do when your church on a hill is snowed in? You gather a congregation and have church at home. Our congregation was quite diverse today including elephants, cats, a dog, a kid (there was no separate children’s church offered) and even a duck.

Ella played “O Come Let Us Adore Him” and “We Fall Down” on the piano and I “preached” from Philippians 3:14. Angie led a prayer and Beau was supposed to take up the offering, but refused at the last minute (he needs to re-dedicate His life…).

Can’t wait to be back with the Bethel family, but it sure was sweet to worship with my own little household church today!

Priceless. Probably the best service you will ever have. Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of a time once. Not quite a home service but similar.

Our church, New South Baptist Church, was going through a rough time. Attendance was at an all time low. Our pianist was sick so she was not there. We were about three or four at that time. While we were singing without music, I was leading, my wife went to the bathroom, another lady started to blow her nose, one of the other guys just stopped singing, I was left singing by myself.

If you know me then that would have been a real painful. A event. A memory that we will not forget.

A very cool story Robert – funny how powerful the “small” gatherings can be to us!

This is so cute. I enjoyed reading about this. There is definitely no excuse if its bad weather than to have church in your own home when you can’t make it to the actual building.
