I just got an email from Alexander Chepurnoy, who is one of our missionaries serving in Minneapolis. He’s planting a Russian-speaking church there in the twin cities where there’s a large population. He just sent me this note - wanted to share…
Pastor Brandon,
I want to inform you, that on August, 2, 2008 we had the first baptism in the “ New Life” Church. We baptized 3 persons. It was special event in our church. We had baptism on the Weaver Lake. After baptism we had picnic in a park. I send to you some photo.
Thank you for prayers and the financial support of our ministry.
God bless you.

Yesterday, I headed out of Bentonville at about 6:30 a.m. for the Tulsa International Airport. On the way, I drove through snow and saw about 15 cars off the road and slowed down to about 25 mph. Finally I broke free in time to get to the airport to find our flight delayed a little over an hour. When we finally made it to Atlanta, our flight was delayed yet again, which turned out to be a blessing since Sue Husser was joining us from Louisiana and made it to the gate as we were boarding. WAIT! There is more to read… read on »
I received the news last week that our Barnabas Touch mission trip to Russia is being postponed at the request of the Russian Baptist Union. We’re now looking at the spring but the trip is still on. Honestly, it may work out better as far as the holidays are concerned and I still have my passport!

Everyone has warned me about applying for a passport - “don’t wait too late - it takes 3 months or more…” Even the post office gave me this same information. But alas, it arrived in about 4 weeks! It’s a God-thing. Receiving my passport just reminded me of the whole reason I applied for it to begin with…
God has opened a door for me to accompany a few other men to Russia just after Thanksgiving. We’re going to be speaking in a training conference, of sorts, for Russian pastors, preaching in churches, and evangelizing in Moscow. I can’t wait! I can’t wait to see the other side of the world, to meet people from another culture, and to travel with some godly friends. But more than any of that, I can’t wait to join God on mission around the world!
Please pray for our team as we prepare. If you feel led to support this trip, just send a check designated for “Russia Trip” to:

I’ll be saying more about trip as the time gets closer… and certainly afterward!
